C Storage classes

We have two primary location for storing a variable is  Memory and Register. C Storage class determine which of these two types of Locations, value stored.


Variable storage class have the following characteristics :-

  • the location of the variable.
  • They tell initial storing value of the variable, if value not defined then it have default value.
  • Storage class tell us the scope of the variable.
  • What will be the life of the variable.


C Language have four storage classes  :-

  • Automatic Storage class
  • Register Storage class
  • Static storage class
  • External storage class
